i am 30 years old and 17 stone and was wondering whether i had any chance in the powerlifting side of strength here are some of my feats:bench press 170kg,squat 200kg,deadlift 260kg please reply to tell me either way or to give me some advise cheers.

I would have a look at entering the regionals, visit www.britishpowerlifting.com to find out contact details. It is said that you don't peak until mid thirties so I would think you could improve on these a bit as well, possibly. But it does all depend on how strict you are judging these lifts, do you have a visible pause in your bench press, do you go below parallel on your squat?

Powerlifting, as are all strength sports, about competing against yourself first and others second!! apart from that its great to be able to say I squatted/benched/deadlifted XXXkg in accordance with rules that would make it credible anywhere in the world. Knocks the wind out of all those 'gym only' warriors that think a good benchpress is done with 4 inches between yer ass and the bench with a rib breaking bounce!! It takes a lot of gutz to get up on a stage and permit your lifting to be rated by 3 judges.
You look to have a pretty healthy bench and deadlift (done in supportive suits???) but the squat could do with a little specialisation. What part of the country u from?

go 4 it. You never to old. with them weights you have a very good start. bit more work on squats good luck
