Dear All,
Elite Strongman Promotions would like to announce that the venue and date have been secured for the 2009 Midlands Strongest Man
It is to be held Monday 4th May (Mayday) in Leighton Buzzard with the event taking place in the park in the middle of the May Day Fayre.
This will be the second year running the Midlands has been held here, as the May Day Fayre was a fantastic success last year with a record breaking 12,000 people visiting and our show was in the centre of it all.
Darren Hayward is organising the event again, with help from Spencer Highland, Bob Daglish and Dave Meer.
This will also be the Midlands qualifier for the Elite Strongman Promotions Englands Strongest Man to be held in July
Anyone from the midlands interested in this competition can email Bob at elitestrongman@fsmail.net for an application form

Dear All,
The events have been decided for the 2009 Midlands Strongest Man being held in Leighton Buzzard on Monday 4th May
We have made it a heavy show to keep up with the Englands final and ultimately the UK's final
They are as follows
Viking Press = 160k max reps
Big Van Deadlift = 310k reps
Giant Fingers (Fingals) = 4 fingers in fastest time
350k Super Yoke 10m into 320k Frame Carry Farmers 10m, fastest time
Stones 100 - 160k

UKSC Midlands Qualifier Monday 4th May - Venue Parsons Close Recreation Ground, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Sign in will be held at 10.30 am in Sun Pub car park post code LU7 1RX ( for those with sat nav ) , Lake Street Leighton Buzzard; this is virtually next door to the gym where the sign in was last year -the gym has been renamed The Collosium and the competition takes place in the recreation ground down little street between the pub and the gym!
Providing the weather is good this gonna be a great show big turn out expected if the weather is kind with refreshments laid on for those competing thanks to the landlord! Prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place and also Individual event winners courtesy of local business's.
