Hey i made stones last weekend 1 x 100kg and 1 x 115kg they turned out really well i went to my local quarry for some advice and met an old guy whos help was brilliant. They gave me some of there stone which is very hard . This is thereal key the harder the stone you use the harder your stone will be. I used a 3 stone 1 sand 1 cement mix with some plasticiser and horse hair mixed in keep it dry but not too dry. Once the mix is made pour in a bit at a time use a stick to tamp down the mix to get the air out easy so far now the key secret after one day when you take it out of the mould and it all looks great put it in a big barrell of water for a week just watch the weather frost will ruin this. The water cools the stone and helps set the centre of the stone faster which increases the strenght alot then take it out leave it for a day and weigh it. It has worked out great for me and i used your and tips also for guidance thanks mate

Some good ideas there. I used to leave my stones outside for a wk but the water idea seems a real good un. Have fun lifting them mate.
