Surely it is up to the organiser to decide, if they had decided that he was not right for the show, they would have said; so it just sounds like a good win to me.

It's very annoying to see a quality strongman not receive the credit that he deserves. Charlotte, just because the likes of Lawson, Lamb and Jonna Graham etc. are not household names does not mean that they are not quality strongmen. To say that they are novices prooves how little you obviously know about strongman comps. When Simon Morton wins the final of North East Strongest Man on 24th August(his third win in the comp), that will put him ahead of Steve Brooks, in terms of the competitions history. A worthy achievement in anybody's book.
Keep up the good work Simon.

thanks for your support for simon but i think i know 10 athletes who think they may push simon hard to win his third title. come 24th August Jonna Graham, Mark Lawson, Geoff Lamb, Bill Little. David Clapp, Andy Kirkham, Alister Black, David Cowen, Simon Morton plus one wild card competitor will compete for 10th North east strongest man title. not one will be classed as a novice, all will be in with a chance of the title because they finished in the top 4 of each heat. if you want to support british strongmen of the future it is with grass roots compititions like the shows i organise in the north east of england. one or more of these lads will win BSM one day
