We had a very sunny day at Billingham for the first of i hope many Teesside strongest man shows.
We had 10 very good competitors with 5 events to test they strength.

event 1 Log lift 90 kilo from chest as many reps in 75 seconds
1st = David Cowen & Mark Lawson 17 reps
3rd Simon Morton 16 reps
4th Jonna Graham 9 reps
David Cowen had to pull out due to an injury to his right biceps. This was bad luck for David as this was his best show in the log this year

event 2 Tyre flip 8 flips 400 kilo tyre
1st Billy Little 8 in 29 seconds
2nd Mark Lawson 8 in 33 seconds
3rd Jonna Graham 8 in 40 seconds
4th Simon morton 8 in 44 seconds
Billy Little just to good for the rest, 6 competitors did 8 flips within 60 seconds very close event

event 3 barrel load 4 barrels 100, 120, 130 & 140
1st Mark lawson 35 seconds
2nd Billy little 37 seconds
3rd Jonna Graham 38 seconds
4th Simon Morton 48 seconds
Billy & Mark very fast, Jonna very fast too giveing these to guys at least 2/3 stone body weight

event 4 Farmers walk total weight 220 kilos for distance
1st Mark Lawson 76 mertes
2nd Billy Little 67 mertes
3rd Jonna Graham 62 mertes
4th Simon Morton 50 mertes
once agian Mark was top dog

event 5 Truck pull 11.5 tonne 30 merte pull
1st Simon Morton 22.26 seconds
2nd Billy Little 23.14 seconds
3rd Mark Lawson 23.17 seconds
4th Alister Black 24.53
Simon left his best till last, still been a long season for big Si

overall places
1st Mark Lawson 42 points.
best show this year never out of the first three in each event, best man on the day
2nd Billy Little 39 points
poor log let Billy down today. still was my man of the match
3rd Simon Morton 35 points
truck pull safed the day for big Si, 1 to many comps
4th Jonna Graham 33 points
at 17 stone and 20 years old keeps getting better, after a poor north east final he proved to me he still has want it takes to be top dog
5th Alister Black 24 points
just keeps getting better and bigger best yet to come
6th Graham Dale
at 15 stone pound for pound has to be1 of the strongest man i know and has the heart of a lion
7th Chris Shaw
first show this big man has done and he did very well hope to see more of chris, best first timer i have seen
8th Big Michal willetts
a small man he may be, has the heart of a lion and as strong as 1 to. this young man is want makes this sport fun to do.
9th Andy Kirkham
first show for 2 years due to a back injury. will be back next year bigger and stronger now he has the bug back.
10th David Cowen
pull out after 1 event. 1st place in the log lift. i still think this guy has more to come

once agian i like to thank the ref G Densham, (mc) Trudy Daglish, time keeper Sean Bynre, score keeper Kelly Davies and the crew John Scott and Ed Brown and all the competitors for a great show.

Cheers bob had A GREAT DAY , started off slowly couldnt seem to motivate myself but happy with my final placing still room for improvement though, a thoroughly well deserved win for Mark whos had a great year and a good performance from the rest of the lads see ya all at eds where hopefully the crowd will get behind the competitors, for such a big crowd it was eeriely quiet on the field once again bob thanx

just a quick message to say how proud i am of chris. for his 1st competition he did really well and he will go far. he will be at eddie elwoods novice comp in two weeks so were looking forward to that. good look darlin! thanks to bob also for putting on a crackin show. ;D ...charl.
